Arsenal have been dealt another blow to their summer transfer plans as Wolfsburg claim Julian Draxler is going nowhere.
Arsene Wenger had reportedly planned to make an ambitious £55m bid for the German playmaker, but Die Wolfe are in no hurry to sell one of their biggest assets.
Having impressed at Euro 2016 for Germany, the 22-year-old naturally attracted attention from other clubs.
Speaking to Sport1 in Germany, director Klaus Allofs made the club’s position very clear.
The situation with Draxler is 100 per cent certain that he will be staying at Wolfsburg. There is no discussing that.
This news comes after Jamie Vardy rejected the chance to join the Gunners earlier this window.

With Olivier Giroud returning late to action after his exploits with France, and injuries to both Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck looking like keeping them out for the early games of the season, Wenger may well be forced to start Chuba Akpom in a striker’s role for the foreseeable future.
That does, of course, depend on no more forward incomings for the Gunners. Time is still on their side.
