Mkhitaryan put up for sale by Dortmund

Arsenal have been very active in the transfer window already this summer. Having already secured Granit Xhaka, Arsenal have been linked with a host of new players. One player in particular who is constantly linked with the North London club, is Borussia Dortmund player, Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenian has spent three years at the German club and has become one of the better wingers in world football. Indeed, last season he managed to register 23 goals and 32 assists across all competitions according to transfermarkt.

The winger also has only one year left on his contract and in recent weeks has been heavily linked with a move away from Dortmund. It has now been reported by German publication, Kicker (via the Mirror), that Mkhitaryan has rejected a new deal from Dortmund.

Having rejected a new offer from Dortmund and with only a year left on his current contract, Dortmund are now willing to sell the winger. At 27-years-old Mkhitaryan is in the prime of his career and could be an excellent addition for Arsenal, considering the poor form of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arsenal’s rival, Tottenham Hotspur have also reportedly shown interest but it is understood Arsenal is the Armenian’s preferred destination.
