Arsenal’s on-loan goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, currently at Roma, remains unsure of his future after contract talks between the Italian side and the Gunners seem to have come to a stand still.
Szczesny has become Roma’s number one under manager Luciano Spalletti, making 40 appearances this season in all competitions.

It is understood that Roma wish to extend the loan spell for another season before making a permanent move for the Polish international keeper.
However the Italian newspaper, Corriere dello Sport, – via the Express– claim that Arsenal are no longer willing to contribute to Szczesny’s wages and are instead wanting to sell him now, if he were to stay at Roma for another year.
Arsenal were subsidizing his 2.4 million pound-a-year earnings this season but are now wanting to sell him to Roma on a permanent basis.
Szczesny has spoken positively about his time at Roma, and revealed that negotiations were continuing between the two clubs to try to solve the problem.
Next year in Rome? I don’t know, I know what you know, that the clubs are talking about it.
Szczesny has had a solid season with Roma this year, and with Petr Cech firmly entrenched as Arsenal’s number ‘keeper, the move could make sense for both sides.
