Arsene Wenger has staged a youth revolution in the last season or two. After a raft of youth signings last summer, Arsenal have refocused their youth policy in order to unearth the next hidden talent.
Recently, academy products, Francis Coquelin, Hector Bellerin, and now Alex Iwobi, have progressed through to Arsenal’s first team. Moreover, Arsenal’s under-21s have had an improved season this year, and could well be promoted into Division One of the under-21 League.
One youth player who has caught Wenger’s eye this season, has been PSG under-19 captain, Mamadou Doucoure.

The young centreback captained PSG’s under-19 team to the UEFA Youth League Final this season – a game in which they lost. Furthermore, the young defender has played 15 times for France’s under-17s.
According to reports, however, Arsenal have missed out on the young defender, as he has agreed to move to Borussia Monchengladbach.
PSG had hoped to tie down the defender to a professional contract, but with Thiago Silva, David Luiz and Marquinhos ahead of him, Doucoure has decided to move to a club where he has a better chance of first-team football.
