It was another frustrating afternoon for Arsene Wenger and his men, as Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners took the lead through an Alexis Sanchez header on the stroke of half time, after spending the first 45 minutes in cruise control, dominating the visitors.
Arsenal continued to look good at the beginning of the second half, as they pushed for more and still had Palace exactly where they wanted them, chasing and tiring the home side’s mesmerising style of play.
Former Gunner Emmanuel Adebayor returned to the Emirates, to an ovation of boo’s targeted towards the ex-Spurs striker, and not long after being introduced, made a serious impact on the game.
Adebayor set up Palace winger Yannick Bolasie, who struck the ball hard and low, beating Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech at his near post, the game after the Czech returned from injury.
The equaliser was a huge blow to Arsenal’s hopes of taking over Tottenham Hotspur and finishing second, and instead leaves the Gunners looking over their shoulders, as they begin their race for fourth place.
What can we learn from yet another disappointing result at home?
