Merson predicts comfortable Arsenal win over Palace

Paul Merson has once again predicted what he believes will be the outcome when Arsenal take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League this weekend.

The north London side are is a slight vein of good form, having not lost in their previous four Premier League games. Impressive wins against Everton and Watford once again disappointed supporters, with talk of Arsenal’s inability to win under pressure once again proving prevalent.

Meanwhile, the visitors to the Emirates Stadium this weekend will have their minds elsewhere. Having reached the 38 point mark in the league and looking forward to a trip to Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final, it’s unlikely that Alan Pardew’s side are going to field their strongest possible side.

Merson, speaking in his weekly prediction column for Sky Sports, claims that the Gunners will win this won comfortably by three goals to nil.

Arsenal are the best team in the world when the pressure is off. They will win this game because Crystal Palace are now in a position where they can afford to rest players ahead of the FA Cup semi-final.

They can lose this game heavily, it won’t matter. The manager, the players and the fans will move on to Wembley. Arsenal will win this game.

When last the two sides met, Arsenal came out as 2-1 victors at Selhurst Park.
