While many clubs will be identifying their respective summer transfer targets, decisions are also to be made on the future of the players out on loan.
Many fans will be desperate for Arsenal to spend in the summer but there are a few players out on loan who could make a big impact on the team next season. There are also some players whose futures at the club, seem to be in doubt.
Wojciech Szczesny was sent out on loan to Roma this year, but has had a solid season. Petr Cech, however, is firmly entrenched as Arsenal’s no.1 and it seems unlikely that Szczesny will be able to reclaim his place. Moreover, the Poland international, according to reports, would be happy to stay in Italy.
Similarly, Matthieu Debuchy has lost his first team spot to Hector Bellerin and was subsequently sent to Bordeaux on loan. Debuchy is now 30, entering the twilight of his career, and will be looking to maximise his game time.
Although, Szczesny did not feature, let’s look at how Arsenal’s loanees performed in the period 5th-10th April.
