Former Arsenal player Paul Merson has picked the Gunners to edge out West Ham when the two sides meet at the weekend. Arsene Wenger’s men travel to Upton Park this weekend trying to hold onto the slim hope they have of a late season title challenge. West Ham, on the other hand, will come out with their best as a victory would be a huge boost in their attempt for UEFA Champions League football.
This match will feature two of the premier attacking midfield talents in the world in Mesut Ozil and Dimitri Payet. Both have had excellent Premier League season and are the key to making their team tick offensively.
The Gunners will go into the match with the knowledge of their defeat to the Hammers earlier this year. West Ham will take confidence from the victory as they look to do the double over Arsenal for the first time in nine years.
With all this in mind, Merson picks Arsenal to edge out the Hammers 2-1 in his Sky Sports prediction column.

Both teams need to win. It’s a good game really because a draw is no good to either of them. If Arsenal think they are going to win the league then they need to win this and a victory is as important to West Ham if they are to get in the top four.
This is a hard one to call because West Ham are doing really well, but no one is better than Arsenal when playing without pressure.
The two sides meet on Saturday afternoon, with kick-off from 12:45 BST.
