Arsenal are the latest club to emerge as potential suitors for promising young AC Milan midfielder Manuel Locatelli, according to Goal.
The 18-year-old has earned several plaudits in recent times as a result of a string of impressive performances for Milan’s youth team, which has helped him to cement a place in the Italy under-19’s side.
Although Locatelli has not featured for the Italian giants at senior level, there are no doubts cast over his massive future and already-impressive talents, which have been identified by Milan’s chairman Silvio Berlusconi, as he described the youngster as the ‘playmaker of their future’.

Going from Berlusconi’s high regard of Locatelli, you’d be inclined to think that he would be a crucial player to keep whilst looking ahead to the future for Milan, however, if Arsenal can prize away such a talent, they will have a massive young star on their hands.
Goal have reported that a preliminary contract has been signed and agreed with the starlet’s agent, however, more negotiations will need to take place before Locatelli can be lured away from his club.
First-team coach Neil Banfield, who often scouts potential Gunners’ signings, has been in attendance for several of Locatelli’s games as of late and is believed to be impressed with what the young Italian has to offer.
