Five Things We Learned: Arsenal 1-2 Watford

After two FA Cup winners medals in the last two seasons, and the joint-longest run in the history of the competition, the Gunners have finally been knocked out, at home to Watford.

The Hornets took the lead in the 50th minute and doubled the scoreline 13 minutes later with a rocket of a strike from forward Adlene Guedioura.

Arsenal looked dead and buried until the 88th minute, as Danny Welbeck scored a clever goal from a tight angle to give the game an exciting last five minutes, and after missing an open goal just minutes after they pulled one back, it wasn’t to be for the home side.

Watford fought well and got the result they needed to take themselves to Wembley for the semi final, a place Arsenal, unfortunately, won’t be visiting this season like the previous two, but it will give them a better chance at catching high-flying Leicester City, who sit at the top of the Premier League.

Here’s what we learnt on Saturday afternoon after suffering that loss at home to Watford.
