Arsenal trained at London Colney on Saturday morning ahead of their FA Cup quarter final against Watford at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Good news came in the form of defender Laurent Koscielny, who trained after being sidelined since the Gunners’ 3-2 loss to Manchester United at the end of February.

The Frenchman is unlikely to start on Sunday however, with Gabriel and Per Mertesacker also returning to first-team practice despite both being withdrawn midweek with respective injuries.

Mikel Arteta, Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck were also involved in training and could be in the matchday squad, with the ex-Manchester United centre forward expected to start up front for Arsenal.

Youngster Krystian Bielik, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Serge Gnabry were amongst those who were involved, with Chris Willock seemingly left out after featuring for the under-21s in their 3-0 win against Fulham during the week.

Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud, Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin all trained ahead of the game, although it’s unknown whether Arsene Wenger will rest his biggest stars, with one eye potentially on the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg against Barcelona midweek.
