After a humiliating 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at the weekend, Arsenal went into the Swansea game under pressure and needing a win. After such a demoralising loss, the atmosphere of the game was expectantly tense.
Arsenal dominated the first half, and should really have gone in more than one goal to the good. They did score one though, via Joel Campbell, who neatly collected the ball from Alexis Sanchez and scooped it over former Gunner Lukasz Fabianski.
Arsenal could not find the net for the second, which kept Swansea in the game. The South Wales club then equalled the scoring after Kyle Naughton pounced and finished coolly past Petr Cech.
The second half was similar to the first, with Arsenal dominating the ball. They were unable to score though and Swansea grabbed a second after Ashley Williams turned home a set piece. The match ended 2-1 and Arsenal’s fading title hopes took another blow.
