Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Inaki Williams has signed a new long-term contract with current side Athletic Club.
Williams, who has been one of La Liga’s top stars this season, is highly sought after and it had been reported that both Arsenal and the Reds were interested in bringing him to the Premier League.
However, the 21-year-old opted to remain with his current side, signing a five-year contract which now boasts a release clause of no less than £38m.

The high release clause signals Athletic’s intent to keep the Spain under-21 international, with them unlikely to sell Williams for much less than the figure required, unless he personally requests a move away.
In his previous contract, Williams was available for just £15.3m, meaning both the Gunners and Liverpool could have cashed in on a player whose potential could soar in the coming years.

Arsene Wenger previously claimed that he is unlikely to buy any players in the remaining 10 days of the transfer window, having brought in solely Mohamed Elneny.
