Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez has suffered a setback in his race for fitness.
The 27-year-old has been out of action since pulling his hamstring at the end of November at Carrow Road, when Arsenal drew with Norwich in the Premier League.
It was reported that the Chilean could have been back in time to face Sunderland this weekend in the third round of the FA Cup. However, Wenger confirmed that Alexis will be out for a little while longer.

The bad news of the week is that Alexis is not quite ready. It is a precaution because of his hamstring, and it takes a few more days. He’s not bad but he’s not ready.
The setback will come as a blow to both club and player, although Wenger did not confirm if the Chilean forward would return in time to face Liverpool in the Premier League just a few days later.
Arsenal face Sunderland on Saturday afternoon as they begin their defence of the FA Cup, with the likes of Calum Chambers confident the Gunners can become the first club to retain the trophy three seasons in a row since 1886.
