Roma consider January move for Debuchy

According to reports, Italian giants Roma are eyeing a January move for out of favour Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy on loan until the end of the season.

Debuchy has found chances hard to come by this season due to Hector Bellerin’s excellent form at the back and his first-team opportunities being hindered by minor injuries.

Roma are looking to strengthen their defence with the second half of the season looming and in the form of Debuchy, they would be able to utilise a hungry and experienced defender.

With the Frenchman being linked with a move away, it comes as no surprise to see manager Arsene Wenger talk of his future at the club, stating that it would not be out of the realm of possibility to see the right-back leave the club in January.

It’s not impossible (that Debuchy will leave in January). I’m happy if he stays but we will see.

Despite interest from Roma, Debuchy has previously hinted at wanting to remain in the Premier League, with struggling West Brom linked with the France international.
