Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Mathieu Debuchy could leave the club in January, after a tough start to the campaign for the Frenchman.
Debuchy, despite being signed for a fee upwards of £10m, has been a rare fixture in the Gunners’ side after an injury-ravaged start to his career in north London, while the progress and development of Spaniard Hector Bellerin has seen his contribution rendered moot.

The ex-Newcastle United man has had to put up with merely a couple of Capital One Cup appearances as well as small contributions from the bench and a stint in the first XI while Bellerin was out injured.
With the European Championship in France next summer fast approaching, Debuchy has one eye on making the squad with his nation, but understands that without regular first team football, it’s unlikely his chances will be great.
Wenger has revealed the experienced defender could leave in January.

It’s not impossible [that Debuchy will leave]. I’m happy if he stays but we’ll see.
Debuchy’s next chance to feature for the Gunners will likely be on Saturday 9th January, when Arsenal face Sunderland in the third round of the FA Cup.
