Former Tottenham midfielder and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has admitted that he has been left impressed by Olivier Giroud’s ability to play through the heavy criticism often directed at the French striker.
The former Montpellier star, who has managed 47 goals in 108 appearances for Arsenal since joining in 2012, has not been one to shy away from the criticism directed at him by his own club’s fans, however, he has continued to persevere and managed to rediscover his form.
And speaking in his column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp commended the determination of the French striker to ignore the boo boys and instead focus on his own game.

I have a lot of respect for Olivier Giroud. The Arsenal man has put up with a lot of criticism from his own fans but he always responds.
He has admitted that he needs to do more this season and he has. The battle with Theo Walcott has invigorated him and he is in good form.
He takes a lot of stick but he’s the kind of player I would have enjoyed playing alongside.
After a brief spell on the bench following a dip in form which saw Theo Walcott finally given the opportunity to spearhead the Gunners’ attack as he has often craved, Giroud has once again been reinstated to the first team and has so far this season managed to record six goals in the Premier League whilst also scoring five goals in his last seven appearances in all competitions.
