Talking style with Giroud, Ozil and Sanchez
Are you a football fan? When you picture the perfect footballer, what is the image that comes to mind? Is he a looker and fast on the field? Does he show good sportsmanship when he loses? Does he have good hair?
A couple of months ago, Arsenal players Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, and Olivier Giroud teamed up with the fashion house Lanvin to do a feature in GQ magazine.
And the conversation wasn’t exactly what you would expect from professional football players. The elite athletes talked about virtually everything under the sun, including their hair, the contents of their grooming kits, and more of the like.
But what makes the players’ style? Are Lanvin suits enough? There’s a set of collated rules online to aid your efforts and help suit up with Royal Vegas Casino.
Their ‘rules’ explore the benefits of looking your best – not least you might be able to compete with the likes of Giroud and Sanchez – and also tips on how to look more like them (if you want to, of course).
In the GQ issue, released prior to the FA Cup win, Giroud reveals that he is very happy that his hair provides inspiration to young children.
They try to do the quiff. Especially in France, I see a lot of them. It is funny because they try to imitate me – but it is always a pleasure.
Ozil, on the other hand, reveals the items that he has in his grooming kits.
I bring my own grooming kit to the game… moisturiser, gel and shampoo – I like to take care of myself… Football players like to take care of themselves and pay attention to the way they dress.
Don’t worry, they didn’t lose their memberships to the MAN club, there was some chatter about football. For instance, Giroud gushed about his hero, David Beckham.
David Beckham is a top man. I love the guy and what he can show in terms of style as well. He’s really classy, an icon… When I was young, I looked up to Andriy Shevchenko. He was so elegant, and on the pitch as well.
Here’s a behind scenes look at the photo shoot and interviews.
Can Arsenal be more substance over style again this year? It’s looking very promising.
