Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has spoken ahead of his side’s meeting with Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening and hailed an unlikely name – Joel Campbell.
In his pre-match news conference, the Frenchman cited the two reason that he likes the Costa Rican international.
One is that he has outstanding individual quality, but he is also a team player. He works very hard for the team.
Wenger says that Campbell will be given a chance to impress in the game against the Championship side, and is sure that he will grasp the opportunity.

I’m convinced he will get a chance here and that he will take it. He has another opportunity against Sheffield Wednesday and I’m hopeful that he will show that he has the quality to play for Arsenal.
He also said that Calum Chambers is a player with the correct mindset, and said that the two players have done ‘everything right’.
When you get the chance, you have to be ready. To be ready, you have to prepare. I must say that Joel Campbell and Calum Chambers are two players who do absolutely everything right.
They are prepared, the preparation they have created will give them the confidence against Sheffield Wednesday and I’m confident they will play well.

23-year-old Campbell has had a limited Arsenal career thus far, being sent out on four loan spells to FC Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos and Villarreal respectively.
He has only appeared 13 times for the north London club and is yet to score a goal. His impressive performance at the 2014 World Cup, helping Costa Rica to reach the quarter-finals, led many to believe he would play a larger role in Arsenal’s squad, however, as of yet, that hasn’t happened.
