Olivier Giroud shared his thoughts after Arsenal’s fourth win on the bounce in the Premier League, which has taken the Gunners top of the table for the first time since February 2014.
Here are the Frenchman’s words on three more points, competition, his relationship’s with teammates & the team’s form.
To win a third time after the Bayern Munich & Watford game makes us very pleased. We wanted to keep it up against a good team. It’s nice to win this kind of game after a big Champions League game.
Giroud scored in the first half with the slightest of headers, off a sumptuous pass by Mesut Ozil delivered deep into the Toffees defence. He almost added a second around the hour mark, only to be denied by the woodwork.
I maybe should have scored a second but the luck was not with me. It’s always nice to score as a striker and it was a fantastic ball from Mesut so I tried to return the favour in the second half, but he didn’t want to score.

Despite Arsene Wenger’s words last week about Theo Walcott being Arsenal’s main forward, Giroud started against a typically physical Everton side while the Englishman was an unused substitute.
The main thing is that the team is doing well. That’s the best thing for me. As long as we are winning, I am pleased with that and I try to bring something else to the team. We have a different profile with Theo, and a good understanding with each of us up front, so it is okay. Before, Theo was in good form and now it is me, so we need to both contribute to the big matches.
Such positive competition in the side could keep all the players on their toes as the Gunners march steadily to their first Premier League title in over a decade.
