Having started off the season with a Community Shield winning goal, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has had a fairly inconsistent past few months.
The Ox capped off England’s tenth win of the Euro 2016 Qualifiers with a well-struck goal in last night’s 3 – 0 win over Lithuania, but he was subjected to some criticism on social media over the lack of defensive duties he undertook.
A couple of unfortunate own goals for Arsenal haven’t helped his cause either, as he is no longer an automatic starter for Arsene Wenger, with his insistence on starting Aaron Ramsey out wide on the right flank.
But the former Saints man is highly aware of what he needs to do to improve his game – and hopes to learn valuable lessons to improve his goal scoring from none other than Arsenal legendary Thierry Henry.

I might have to have a few words with Thierry… I think there’s no better man to advice you on how to get a goal here or there.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been highly critical of his own performances, which was highlighted by his own quotes about his conversations with his father; ex-England international Mark Chamberlain – as well as by Arsene Wenger.
I see Alex train every day. He is dedicated, focused, and hungry. But his dad said he lacks a bit of self-belief and I can confirm that because he is very critical of himself.
Having identified finishing as a key aspect to improve upon, advice from the French hitman won’t be hard to get as recently Arsenal’s all-time top goalscorer has recently started working with the Arsenal U19s squad at London Colney.
There’s no easy goals but the tap-ins at the back post and stuff like that. That’s something I’m more conscious of.
It’s definitely something I’m aware of so if I am able to get in the score sheet is something I’m happy about it. It is something I obviously want to contribute more.
