In-form Arsenal forward Theo Walcott believes that his side’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United on Sunday shows that the Gunners are capable of winning the Premier League.
Arsene Wenger’s men displayed signs of weakness in performances against West Ham and Chelsea earlier this season, but the England international feels that they made a statement of intent by crushing Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United on a Super Sunday that could play a major part in deciding where the Premier League title is lifted in May.
Walcott acknowledged his team’s past mistakes as he admitted that his side had a previous tendency to concede poor goals.
When we [Arsenal] have won games before, we have tended to give away sloppy goals, so it was crucial for the whole team that we kept a clean sheet today.

Not only did Walcott recognised the fact that Arsenal had shown frailty in past matches, the Southampton academy graduate was keen to sustain the momentum created by this victory and to show the desire in every single game.
This result especially will send out a message to the Premier League that we are ready to actually have a go this season.
That desire was there, but we need to show it in every single game now, it can’t just be one-offs.
You could sense by the way we started today, it was going to be a good day.
Arsenal’s 13-year wait for a first division title could end at the Emirates could end this season, with the north London side currently sat two points behind current leaders Manchester City with 30 matches still to play in Europe’s most illustrious league and Theo admitted that the early stages of the game was some of the most unbelievable football he’s ever been involved in.

Some of the football we played in the first half was just unbelievable to be involved in.
Maybe we eased off a bit in the second half but to be honest we are always happy with a clean sheet, that is crucial for us as well.
