Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is looking forward to facing Louis van Gaal in the Premier League this weekend, while claiming that the fixture still remains a special fixture due to the fight in both sides.
Over the years, the likes of Patrick Vieira and Roy Keane have both left and retired from their respective sides, but the fighting legacy that they built between the two sides remains strong and Wenger believes that this Sunday’s fixture has huge meaning for the classic rivalry.
It is a special fixture because usually Man United are always fighting at the top.
It has an even bigger meaning now because there are three points between the teams, and we play at home in a big game.
We have just come from a big win at Leicester and we want to continue our run. We are the only team who has beaten [Leicester], so I don’t see why we should not believe we can beat Manchester United.

The Gunners have struggled as of late to come out on top against United, with the north London side failing to beat the current table toppers in the last five Premier League seasons . However, Arsenal did defeat Van Gaal’s United last season at Old Trafford on the way to their FA Cup triumph, with Danny Welbeck famously scoring the winner after Luis Antonio Valencia’s mistake.
Despite facing top of the league opposition, Wenger has no qualms about Arsenal’s ability to defeat their opponents on Sunday and claims that it is too early for anything to be decided.

At the moment it is too difficult to say that any team dominates the championship.
It is so tight that one point more after seven games does not mean you will suddenly make a big difference in the league.
It is settling at the moment and it is a very important time in the Premier League but you cannot come to a conclusion that one team is above everybody else.
