Arsene Wenger and George Graham are often compared, due to the success they both brought to Arsenal.
Graham was brought to north London in March 1986, following a successful spell at Millwall. Having gone seven years without a trophy, the new boss decided to replace older signings with younger players and promote youth team players to the team. Graham enjoyed success at Arsenal, with the club winning all three major English trophies during his tenure.
Arsene Wenger took Arsenal over in September 1996 and has an entire collection of trophies, with the main highlights including his Invincibles season during the 2003/2004 season, in which his squad went the entirety of the season undefeated.
Club legend Alan Smith has had his say on where the main differences lie between both former manager George Graham and current manager Arsene Wenger.
George would give people b*********s in the dressing room at half time, that’s probably one of the major differences.
He’d be more aggressive in his tellings off as it were. Arsene takes a much more measured approach which has obviously worked a treat down the years.
George was a struck disciplinarian and he demanded the highest standards. But then again any top manager has got to be like that.
Once they’ve seen you in action at your best they want that every week.

Alan Smith managed to score 115 goals in all competitions for Arsenal, including scoring against Liverpool in 1989 in the win that secured the league title. Smith played the majority of his Arsenal career under George Graham and retired a year before Wenger took over.
