Arsenal spent the summer being linked with every well-known striker under the sun but were left with the attackers they already had.
PSG star Edinson Cavani has suggested he had the chance to join Arsene Wenger in north London this summer. According to reports in France, Wenger himself staged talks with PSG over the potential of signing the Uruguayan forward and leading up to the final minutes of the window, the Frenchman was supposedly ready to spend £45m on Cavani.
The PSG forward went on to suggest that he may have had more than just the option to join Arsenal.
Many transfer opportunities presented themselves.
But PSG has always trusted me. This is the club who can give me what is better.
If it could happen like in the second half of the season, with very good results that make me want to continue on this path.

Only being five games into the season, Wenger has already come under a great deal of criticism, mainly for his failures in the transfer window. Arsenal started the season with the only recognized first-team strikers being Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck, even though Theo Walcott has played in the role from time to time and looks to be utilised in that role by Wenger more this season.
One day after the transfer window shut, it was revealed that Danny Welbeck was set to miss out on much of the Premier League season – with the Gunners boss reportedly knowing this prior to the closing of transfer season, but he quickly denied this.
