Serie A side Palermo believe Arsenal are stalling over their attempts to sign striker Joel Campbell, reports talkSPORT, and the club’s president Maurizio Zamparini is frustrated with Arsenal’s firm stance regarding the 23-year-olds future.
The Italian club are rumoured to be leading the race for the Costa Rica international’s signature, although the deal is on the verge of collapse due to Arsenal’s refusal to lower their valuation.
Zamparini is struggling to secure Campbell’s services and told Giornale di Sicilia: “I’m here in London to try a final drive for the player, but Arsenal aren’t moving from their initial positions.
“Campbell is unattainable as of now. If some margins open up for a negotiation then all for the better, otherwise we can’t do anything.”

Villarreal also have an interest in Campbell, and may look to move for the forward if his move to Palermo falls through.
Campbell joined Arsenal in 2011, but didn’t receive a work permit until July 2013. He’s yet to be able to force his way into the Arsenal first-team, making just four appearances in his time at the club. He’s spent the last four seasons on loan at clubs around Europe including FC Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos and Villarreal, however the forward looks set to leave the Emirates permanently this summer, if he can come to an agreement with a new club.
