Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey says ‘it’s important to have a balance’ between a player’s commitment to football and personal life off the pitch.
The Welsh wizard maintains the fact that he gives ‘everything’ whilst he’s on the pitch, but feels that family should be a priority for players when they are at home.
“I’m not one of those people who goes home and has to put football on the TV straight away or has to watch Sky Sports News.
“It’s important to take your mind off football otherwise you become too obsessed and you look into things too much,” said Ramsey to Arsenal Player.
He continued to say: “I play golf to take my mind off [football], I have a family who are very important in my life as well and they help me to take my mind away from it.
“When you are playing football you have to give everything and focus 100 per cent on trying to do your best but it’s important to have the right balance.”
Ramsey has become an instrumental part of Arsene Wenger’s midfield in the last few seasons, despite suffering a broken leg shortly after joining from Cardiff for 2008 for a fee in the region of £5m. He is most well known for scoring the winner in Arsenal’s 3-2 triumph over Hull in the FA Cup final, winning their first trophy after an eight-year barren spell at the Emirates.
