According to the Telegraph, Arsenal are set to make a move for a top-class centre forward, but it is not Karim Benzema.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Frenchman, who is believed to be unsettled at current club Real Madrid, and with Arsene Wenger under increasing pressure from supporters to sign another name in the ilk of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, a move for 27-year-old Benzema could be something the Gunners consider.
It is believed that any move for Benzema would cost upwards of £47m, a whopping transfer fee that would break the transfer record currently set by his former teammate Mesut Ozil.

With Rafael Benitez believed to be keen to keep the French international at the club, Arsenal could turn their attention to the imperiously talented Edinson Cavani, who could look for a move away in search of a spot upfront.
Since moving to PSG, the Uruguayan has spent the majority of his playing time on the left side of a three-man attack, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic occupying the centre forward position.
Cavani, 28, has three-years left on his current deal with the Parisians, and would cost in the region of £30m, much less than the fee they paid for him in the first place, believed to be roughly £50m.

After Arsenal’s struggles against West Ham on Sunday afternoon, Arsene Wenger is said to be on the lookout for a top, new talent to lead the attack at the Emirates.
