Arsenal forward Yaya Sanogo is set to move to Ajax for a season-long loan, the club has today confirmed.
22-year-old Sanogo is yet to put his stamp of authority down on the North London club since his move from Auxerre in 2013, and despite reporting for pre-season training, was left out of the 27-man squad for the trip of Singapore to compete in the Barclays Asia Trophy.
Sanogo spent part of last season on loan at Crystal Palace, where he failed to impress, but has been given another chance by Arsene Wenger to spend a season away from the club in order to gain first team experience and battle for his future at the Emirates.
The French forward is set to link up with Arsenal legend and Ajax assistant manager Dennis Bergkamp, who will provide a fantastic influential figure for Sanogo to look up to and try to impress. The French forward also wants to emulate the career of former Ajax and Arsenal great Nwankwo Kanu.
Another Arsenal player who has gone out on loan is Carl Jenkinson, who has rejoined West Ham for the 2015/16 season after signing a new and improved long-term contract with the Gunners.
