It wasn’t one of Arsenal’s finest hours. A 2-1 defeat at Tottenham and two goals from one-time Gunner Harry Kane gave Spurs a deserved win, and put them above Arsenal in the table, which made it even more painful for Arsenal fans.
A delicious finish from Mesut Özil after a superb canter from Danny Welbeck gave Arsenal a 1-0 lead at half-time, although, they were rather fortunate to go in ahead at the break. Spurs didn’t really create too many clear-cut opportunities, and were having pops from distance. David Ospina had to make a several good saves to keep the Gunners ahead at half-time. But Arsenal sat far too deep in the second-half and Spurs’ pressure was too much to handle. A Harry Kane duo downed Arsenal in a dire last 45 minutes from the N5 club.
Leicester denied reports that Nigel Pearson was sacked on Sunday evening, amid speculation that he had been received of his duties after appearing to grab Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur by the throat during the 1-0 home defeat to the south London club on Saturday. Pearson remains in charge and Leicester issued a statement saying Nigel and his staff are fully focused on Tuesday night’s trip to the capital to face Arsenal.
Team News:

Theo Walcott could come in for Danny Welbeck who wasn’t quite 100% fit on Saturday, and Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Debuchy are long-term absentees.
Robert Huth is in line to make his Leicester debut after completing a two-match suspension, but Kaspar Schmeichel and Chris Wood are both out with respective foot and ankle problems.
Match Stats:
Arsenal beat Leicester on the Blues’ last visit to N5. On the last day of the Invincibles season, second-half goals from Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira ensured Arsenal made history.
Arsenal are unbeaten at home to Leicester since September 1973, when they were defeated 2-0 at Highbury, and are unbeaten against the Blues since 1994.
Prediction:
It was a difficult result to take after losing to Tottenham, but Arsenal are making the Emirates a fortress and have a superb record against Leicester. The Foxes are in bad form and are rock-bottom of the Premier League, which should lead to a straightforward result for Arsenal.
Arsenal 3-0 Leicester City.
