Arsenal brushed aside Championship side Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, and things got even better for the Gunners after finding out rivals Tottenham lost to League Two side Colchester United on penalties.
Mauricio Pochettino named a strong Spurs team against The U’s, however, after failing to find the breakthrough after 90 minutes, the tie went straight to penalties.
Misses from star attackers Christian Eriksen and Lucas Moura allowed Tom Lapslie to win it for Colchester, sparking wild scenes at the JobServe Community Stadium.

Before the fixtures on Tuesday, many would have backed Arsenal to slip up against Forest over Spurs falling to defeat against Colchester.
Unai Emery’s men done the business with five goals at the Emirates, allowing various youngsters and returning stars the chance to rack up some productive game time.
Of course, Spurs’ defeat is a bonus, and it’s only natural for Arsenal fans to take time to laugh at their expense.
