# WATCH: Martin Odegaard makes it 3-0 as Arsenal tear Man City apart

**Martin Odegaard scored a brilliant third goal for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta’s side tore into Manchester City immediately after half-time in the Community Shield.**

Arsenal had already established a commanding 2-0 advantage in Cardiff through Riccardo Calafiori and Kai Havertz, with the Premier League champions producing an outstanding first-half display against Enzo Maresca’s side.

Odegaard then needed just three minutes of the second half to make it 3-0.

The Arsenal captain collected the ball inside the Manchester City penalty area before producing an exceptional first touch to escape Josko Gvardiol.

Odegaard then sat Gianluigi Donnarumma down with a clever fake before calmly tapping into the empty net.

## Martin Odegaard goal puts Arsenal 3-0 up vs Man City

It was a goal full of the qualities Arsenal supporters have come to associate with their captain.

Odegaard’s control created the opening, but his composure in front of Donnarumma turned a promising position into another ruthless Arsenal goal.

It also continued a remarkable performance from Arteta’s side.

Calafiori had given Arsenal the perfect start after only 24 seconds before Havertz doubled the lead later in the first half.

Odegaard’s strike effectively picked up where Arsenal had left off after the interval.

The captain has now provided perhaps the best moment of the afternoon.

Arsenal arrived in Cardiff looking to collect the first silverware of the 2026/27 season. At 3-0 up shortly after half-time, they have placed themselves in a formidable position to do exactly that.
