Jack Wilshere backs Vinicius Junior Arsenal move
Speaking to Sky Sports, Wilshere revealed he has been following every development surrounding his former club’s interest.
“I’m like everyone else,” Wilshere said. “I keep reading it and seeing if it’s getting closer.”
The former Arsenal midfielder then made his feelings about a potential deal clear.
“It would be a statement from Mikel and the club,” he added.
Wilshere’s excitement is understandable given the calibre of player Arsenal are pursuing.
Vinicius scored 22 goals for Madrid last season before adding four more for Brazil at the World Cup. His contract expires in 2027, leaving Madrid with a major decision if fresh terms cannot be agreed.
There remains conflicting information around how realistic an Arsenal move is, and no transfer has been completed.
However, the prospect is clearly generating excitement among former players as well as supporters.
For Wilshere, there is little doubt what signing one of world football’s biggest attacking names would say about Arsenal’s ambition.
