Martin Odegaard’s representatives have dismissed reports linking the Arsenal captain with a summer move to Galatasaray.
GOAL reports that sources close to Odegaard have described the Turkish transfer claims as “completely false”, with the midfielder happy at Arsenal and still central to Mikel Arteta’s plans.
The denial follows suggestions in Turkey that Odegaard had reached an agreement with Galatasaray. Football365 has also reported that Arsenal sources rejected those claims, with no agreement in place.
For Arsenal, the key point is stability. Odegaard is not a fringe player whose future can drift quietly in the background. He is Arteta’s captain, one of the side’s main creative references and a central part of the club’s Premier League title defence.
The Premier League’s official profile lists Odegaard on 176 appearances, 35 goals and 37 assists in the competition. Arsenal’s own long-term view of him has been clear since he signed a new contract in 2023, with the club describing him then as their captain and a key figure in the team.
