Arsenal have added another firm date to Mikel Arteta’s pre-season programme, with Serie A side Como 1907 now confirmed as August visitors to Emirates Stadium.
The club announced that Como will come to north London on Wednesday, 12 August, giving the Premier League champions one final home test before the Community Shield and the opening stretch of their title defence.
The fixture follows Arsenal’s already confirmed August schedule against Girona, Real Betis and Borussia Dortmund.
For Arteta, this is more than a commercial friendly. After a World Cup summer that has scattered senior players across different recovery timelines, the Como match should offer a late read on rhythm, minutes and squad balance before competitive football returns.
Arteta Gets One Last Emirates Audit
Como are an ideal opponent for that purpose. Cesc Fabregas’ side are technically brave, comfortable building through pressure and likely to ask far more of Arsenal’s structure than a low-tempo ceremonial friendly would.
That matters because Arsenal’s summer is being shaped by two overlapping demands: protecting heavily used internationals and sharpening the players who may need to cover early-season gaps. The final Emirates run-out should therefore carry genuine selection weight.
With Arsenal confirming ticket details through the official club site, the countdown now has a clearer shape. Arteta’s last pre-season checkpoint is locked in.
