Arsenal are reportedly accelerating their pursuit of Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers while he is away with England at the 2026 World Cup.
The Gunners have been tracking Rogers as part of a wider push to add more threat on the left side of Mikel Arteta’s attack.
Villa remain in a strong position because Rogers signed a contract until 2031 last November, but the same report says they are expected to listen to offers around the £80m mark.
England Camp Gives Arsenal A Live Recruitment Angle
The freshest twist is around timing.
The Sun reports that Arsenal hope their England contingent can help make the Emirates case while Rogers is with the national squad in North America.
Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka are among the Arsenal players able to speak directly to him during the tournament.
That does not make a transfer close.
Sky Sports says there has been no club-to-club contact between Arsenal and Aston Villa at this stage, and Rogers’ long-term deal gives Villa serious leverage.
But it does show why Arsenal’s interest is moving from background admiration into a more active summer storyline.
ReadArsenal has already covered how Arsenal stepped up their Morgan Rogers interest as Aston Villa held a strong position, and this England camp angle adds a fresh layer.
Rogers’ appeal is obvious.
He can play across the front line, would add carrying power and goal threat, and fits a squad that may yet see movement around Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Jesus.
According to Sky Sports News’ latest Arsenal transfer update, he is now one of the names shaping the club’s attacking plans.
