Arsenal are currently preparing to face Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday evening – a clash that will set the tone for a monumental week for Mikel Arteta’s men
The Gunners can move six points clear of Manchester City with a win over the Cottagers at the Emirates. Securing these three points would pile the pressure on the Citizens, who travel west to play Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday night.
All of this comes before Arsenal’s huge Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. The North Londoners could therefore find themselves on the brink of winning the title and in a European final by the end of play on Tuesday night.
Beneath all of this drama on the pitch, Andrea Berta continues to make plans ahead of the summer. With that said, here is the latest Arsenal news today, including an update from Fabrizio Romano, as well as updates on Gabriel Jesus and Paul Merson.
AC Milan monitoring Gabriel Jesus
Arsenal may look to move for a striker in the summer, although they’ll need to make room for this potential addition by sanctioning some sales first.
Gabriel Jesus is expected to leave North London in the summer, and a new report has now emerged linking him with a switch to AC Milan. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan are ‘monitoring’ Jesus’ situation at the Emirates.

The Brazilian has a year remaining on his deal and is on hefty wages, meaning the Gunners may have to accept a relatively slim transfer fee for the player. Regardless, Berta will be glad to be rid of Jesus’ salary on the Arsenal books if he is able to facilitate the 29-year-old’s departure.
Fabrizio Romano provides Arsenal transfer update
As well as acquiring some superstars this summer, Arsenal will be in the market for a few potential future superstars. The Gunners want to unearth some hidden gems and are thus scouring the market for youngsters with high upside.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the North London club are keeping an eye on Red Star Belgrade teenager Vasilije Kostov. The Serbian attacking midfielder broke into the Red Star first team this season and has already netted 13 times at the senior level.
“Italian clubs and German clubs have been tracking him,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“But now, it’s true what’s being reported in Serbia, also, Arsenal are following Kostov, and they are following him closely.”
Paul Merson makes Premier League title claim ahead of Arsenal vs Fulham
Arsenal have just four league matches left to play this season, and thus, the title race is on a knife-edge. The result against Fulham could essentially make or break their season, with City travelling to Everton on Monday night.
Pundit and former Arsenal star Merson has claimed that if Arteta’s team do get over the line against the Cottagers, then they’ll win the league.
| Rank | Team | Pts | Pld | GD |
| 1 | Arsenal | 73 | 34 | +38 |
| 2 | Man City | 70 | 33 | +37 |
“If Arsenal win this game, they win the league!” he wrote for Sportskeeda.
“Three points to Mikel Arteta’s team in this one and Manchester City will have to pull up trees to win the title from here on.
“I said it before as well, these two games against Newcastle and Fulham are so crucial for Arsenal that I would not think of goal difference. I’d take a 1-0 win and just get the three points.
“City still have to go to Everton and Bournemouth, which are two tricky away fixtures. Arsenal getting points on the board before those games will be an advantage for sure.
“I watched City against Burnley, and I thought they weren’t that great either. I expect them to score goals in games, but they could concede chances, and a team like Everton or Bournemouth might hurt them!”
