Arsenal travel to the West Midlands to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
The Gunners have the opportunity to move seven points clear at the summit of the English top flight, with second-place Manchester City not engaged in a midweek encounter. Meanwhile, Wolves will be hopeful of gaining ground on their relegation rivals, although their attempts to avoid dropping into the Championship are somewhat redundant already, given they sit 18 points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.
Mikel Arteta will be without captain Martin Odegaard for the visit to Molineux, although Eberechi Eze’s encouraging display against Wigan Athletic on Saturday should give the Spanish manager encouragement that his team can cope in the Norwegian’s absence.
Aside from Odegaard and long-term absentee Mikel Merino, Arteta could have a fully fit squad to select from. Bukayo Saka is likely to replace Noni Madueke on the right wing after a spell out, while the likes of Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jurrien Timber, David Raya and Piero Hincapie will come back into the side after being rested on the weekend.
Arsenal should have too much for a Wolves side who have failed to scored in four of their last five league matches.
