Arsenal have been handed a double potential injury boost ahead of their next Premier League clash against north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a recent report from Metro, Gunners duo Oleksandr Zinchenko and Martin Odegaard are expected to be fit enough to play in the upcoming north London derby.

The report also added that the pair missed the Gunners’ recent 3-0 win against Brentford last Sunday and neither player reported on international duty for their country.

With three goals in six appearances as well as having played more passes into the 18-yard box (17) than any other player at the club, Odegaard’s return will surely be a big boost for Arteta and give his side a better chance of securing a win against their close rivals.

Bearing in mind how only three clubs have conceded more shots at goal in the league than Tottenham (105) so far in this campaign, this could make it a game for Odegaard to cause havoc for the Spurs defenders with his attacking prowess.

As for Zinchenko, the fact that only six other Arsenal players have a higher combined total of tackles and interceptions than him (14), shows just how useful he can be for the team in a defensive sense.

Taking into account how Antonio Conte’s side (45) have more shots on target than any other team in the division, having a defensive-minded figure like the Ukrainian in the side could be just what Arteta needs to nullify the attacking presence Spurs have.

With all of that in mind, it’s safe to say that the duo could well be the difference between seeing Arsenal secure a victory against their rivals once the Premier League returns or seeing them drop points.

Moving forward, if the pair are fit enough to feature by the time the game comes around, the Gunners boss should have no doubts over putting them both in the starting XI.
