Arsenal join the race to sign Michael Olise

Arsenal have been joined in their interest in Reading teenager Michael Olise by a number of Premier League clubs, according to a report from Football League World.

The talented 18-year-old midfielder is the subject of interest from Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta, as well as a number of other Premier League clubs.

Wolves and Leeds United have also been credited with an interest in the French Under 18 international, who is renowned for his trickery and pace.

It is believed that the Championship club will demand a premium for someone who they consider to be one of the next brightest prospects.

Having spent time in both Manchester City and Chelsea academy systems Olise joined Reading in 2016 and has since broken through into the senior setup.

The youngster impressed in his 19 appearances last term and has started this season in similarly impressive form, scoring once in the first two matches whilst helping the Championship side to a strong start.

Whilst any interest remains at an early stage, Arsenal’s link with a prospect of this pedigree is a positive inclination towards the direction the club is heading in as Arteta looks to build a strong, youthful-looking squad.
