Leeds had deal agreed to sign Rob Holding but Arsenal pulled the plug

Leeds United had deal agreed to sign defender Rob Holding from Arsenal but Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta pulled the plug on the transfer, according to a report from TeamTalk.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side were keen to bring Holding in on a season-long loan deal and had given Arsenal what they wanted in terms of a loan fee and a contribution towards the defender’s wages but Arteta had a change of heart and has decided to keep the Englishman at The Emirates.

Holding was part of the Arsenal team that beat Fulham last weekend and having played well in that game, as well as in the Community Shield, Arteta’s decision to keep him at the club has been vindicated so far.

Arsenal have made reinforcements at the back already this summer but the club needs a strong selection of defenders available and Holding has shown that he’s more than capable of doing a good job so it is positive news that he’s been allowed to continue.
