Arsenal enjoyed a positive start to the season winning 3-0 against newly-promoted Fulham, but Mikel Arteta is still looking to add more players to his squad for the season with Houssem Aouar seemingly his top target.
The Gunners have been in talks with Aouar’s agent in the last few days and are confident that they can agree on personal terms with ease as the player has expressed his interest in joining the club. However, an agreement between Lyon and Arsenal has not been met at this time.
Arsenal have offered a fee of around £36 million for the French playmaker but that bid was rejected, however, the club are now lining up a new offer for the 22-year-old.
After the departure of Emiliano Martinez, Arsenal now have a larger budget to work with and it looks like the funds raised are going to be used to try and secure Aouar.

Aouar could be a great addition to Arteta’s side as he would provide Arsenal with a lot of creativity, whilst he is no stranger to getting stuck into his defensive duties either.
Fans should be excited as the addition of the French midfielder would provide them with a huge boost in their quest to get back into the top four.
