Arsenal agree personal terms with Houssem Aouar
According to transfer expert Nicolo Shira, Arsenal ‘agreed terms’ with Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar on a long-term contract two weeks ago.
The Italian journalist also stated the Gunners and Lyon are yet to come to an agreement over the midfielder but if they can agree a fee, personal terms have already been accepted by the player.
Aouar has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this summer with Mikel Arteta seemingly making the Frenchman one of his top remaining priorities.
The 22-year-old was outstanding for his club in the latter rounds of last season’s Champions League, helping the French Ligue 1 side eliminate the much-fancied Manchester City.

Having seen, and been suitably impressed, with those performances, Aouar is seemingly a wanted man at the Emirates and they may be edging towards a deal.
Journalist Julien Laurens recently reported for ESPN FC that Aouar was Arteta’s ‘dream signing’, perhaps seeing a likeness to his own former playing days.
It will likely cost the Gunners upwards of £50m to land the creative midfielder, funds which will have to be raised by a few more outgoings.
Arteta has already spent a large chunk of money this summer and will now be looking to offload some of the players who are outside of his plans.
News of an agreement between club and player is a massive step in the right direction for this transfer, now lets hope the clubs can agree on a suitable fee.
