Atletico Madrid to offer Arsenal two players in attempt to land Lacazette

According to MARCA, Atletico Madrid are willing to offer Arsenal two players as part of a deal to land striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The La Liga side are said to be desperate to sign the Frenchman and could be willing to part-exchange two of their own stars to push the transfer forwards.

Spanish winger Vitolo and one time major Gunners target Thomas Lemar are the Atleti duo in question.

Vitolo is now 30 years old and therefore represents little long term value, although he would likely offer plenty to countryman Mikel Arteta’s squad in the short-term.

Lemar has become a curious case, the 24-year-old arrived a the Wanda Metropolitano with a burgeoning reputation from Monaco. However, the Frenchman has struggled to adapt to Spain, failing to make a single goal contribution in 22 league games last season.

Arteta seemingly sees Lacazette as part of his plans this term as he started the striker in the first-day victory against Fulham. The 29-year-old repaid his manager’s faith by opening the scoring after just eight minutes.

Whilst the offer of two high-class players and money would be appealing to any club, this deal may take some more sweetening should the club be willing to part with one of their most valuable assets.
