Ainsley Maitland-Niles considers ‘gut-wrenching Arsenal decision’ amidst Wolves link

The Daily Mail have reported that Wolves will make another bid for Arsenal man Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo hasn’t given up hope of landing the versatile Englishman, having seen a bid of around the £15million mark rejected last month.

An improved offer is expected to be made in the coming days for the 23-year-old, who made his senior England debut against Denmark on Tuesday.

Maitland-Niles apparently wants the guarantee of first-team football, something he has struggled for in recent times at the Emirates, especially since Mikel Arteta’s arrival.

Now it seems the man who can play either full-back role or in midfield will make a ‘gut-wrenching’ decision in order to get the action he craves, according to the report.

A Gunner through and through, born in Ilford, Maitland-Niles joined the cub as a six-year-old and has gone on to make over 100 appearances since making his debut in 2014.

Arteta will be mindful of getting this situation right, whilst he clearly sees the player as part of his plans in terms of the squad, the Spaniard must decide whether he sees the youngster getting the game time he needs at this stage of his career.
