The Arsenal squad have returned to training ahead of the season start but fans may have noticed that three players were not present at London Colney over the weekend.

One of the notable absences is Lucas Torreira, who is reportedly very close to joining Italian side Fiorentina. The South American is in discussions with Fiorentina and is close to agreeing on personal terms and the deal is expected to be completed in a week if everything goes to plan between the two clubs.

Another player who was missing from training is another who is linked with a move away, Greek defender Sokratis. Napoli want to sign the centre-back and that deal is thought to be very close to being completed for a fee of around £5 million. The Napoli chairman confirmed his interest in the player and it is thought that they are pushing for the transfer to be completed very soon.

The third player who was not seen at London Colney was youngster Emile Smith-Rowe, which has left us wondering if he is set for another loan deal away from the club after spending last season at Huddersfield.

Arsenal fans will be pleased that players such as Hector Bellerin and Alex Lacazette were spotted in training as it could indicate they are staying at the club for now, but it now appears that Torreira and Sokratis may be on the verge of a move within a week.
