After securing the signing of Dani Ceballos on another season-long loan, Arsenal have shown no sign of stopping their pursuit of Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar as they have a bid for the French player.
According to French outlet RMC, the Gunners placed a bid of around €35 million with an unnamed player also being involved in the deal but the French club were not interested and rejected that bid.

No other club have tabled a bid so far for the 22-year-old, meaning Arsenal appear to be in pole position after already being in talks with the player’s agent a month before the deadline.
Reportedly, Manchester City and Juventus are two other teams that are interested in signing the tricky midfielder but it is thought that Arsenal have the most concrete interest in the player and they are seriously trying to persuade him to join the Emirates as soon as possible.
Aouar would be a big addition to the Arsenal side as he would provide plenty of creativity in the midfield alongside Ceballos.
Arsenal have addressed plenty of issues this summer but if Mesut Ozil is still on the sidelines, the addition of a creative player could be a huge boost for a team who are looking to get back into the Champions League.
