Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira looks set to be leaving Arsenal after just two years at the club, as Mikel Arteta appears to have no place for him in his future plans.
A host of clubs are thought to be interested in signing Torreira, with Fiorentina the favourites to land his signature.
The South American’s agent spoke out during the week and demanded clarity from Arteta on whether he had a place for Torreria in his plans but it appears that the manager is willing to allow him to depart the club.
Fiorentina are trying to push for a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy, with an initial fee of £8 million being paid to Arsenal, with a future fee of around £20 million owed to the Gunners.
However, Arsenal are thought to want to sell the player for a fee of around £27.5 million instead of the loan deal.
Negotiations are reportedly underway between the two clubs and both clubs hope an agreement can be reached before the deadline in October.

It would make sense for Arsenal to let Torreira leave for anything above £25 million as those funds could be vital for other dealing such as ‘top target’ Thomas Partey.
It seems clear that Arteta doesn’t see the South American as part of his long-term plans, so there really is not point keeping him around, especially as he is an asset who could fetch a sizable transfer fee.
