Arsenal are preparing to make an opening £27million bid for AS Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara, according to Corriere dell Sport
The deal could involve Lucas Torreira moving to the Serie A club, an option being considered by both parties, although early signs are that Roma would prefer a cash-only deal.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is believed to be keen on the Guinea international and now is keen to sign him this summer as he looks for an upgrade on Torreira.

Arsenal seem to have switched their attention to the 23-year-old after being unwilling to meet Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey’s release clause.
The Guinean midfielder has sent much of his professional career in Italy after arriving at Bologna in 2015 from San Marino.
He impressed so much in his first season he was bought by Napoli in 2016 where he spent three years before Roma got their man last summer.
Now it seems the 10-times capped international could be on the move once again, with the Gunners the current favourites for his services.
Arteta is looking to add steel and energy to his midfield options, having already bolstered his attacking options with the arrival of Willian from Chelsea and having missed out on Partey, Diawara now seems to be his next target.
