Dani Ceballos, who spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Arsenal, has informed Real Madrid he wants to return to The Emirates, according to Defensa Central.
It seems increasingly likely that the Spaniard will be sent out on loan once more this upcoming season, with AC Milan a rumoured destination, although Ceballos has apparently now told officials at the La Liga champions that he wishes to return to the Emirates.
Los Merengues manager Zinedine Zidane does not see the 24-year-old as part of his first-team plans, therefore, he is willing to let him spend another season away from the Bernabeu on loan.
A recent report from MARCA suggested the midfielder could be available on a permanent basis for the Gunners this summer, for a fee of £22.5m. However, it seems Arsenal would prefer a further loan move with an obligation to buy at the end.

Ceballos enjoyed an impressive start to life in north London but his progress was halted midway through the season when he picked up an injury. However, after the restart, the Spaniard was in very good form and he ended the season very well.
In total, the Spanish international played 36 times for the Gunners scoring twice, although it was his technique and passing ability which caught the eye.
As Mikel Arteta puts his own stamp on the squad, getting Ceballos back seems an obvious move. The Real Madrid man fitted in well under the new Arsenal boss and bringing him back on loan will allow Arteta to fill a gap in his squad, at least in the short-term, without him having to cut into his transfer budget.
